Use of Opioids in Chronic Noncancer PainĀ ā MM1505
Opioids play a much smaller role in the management of chronicĀ noncancer pain than they do in that of severe acute pain and cancerĀ pain. They are beneficial in a small subset of patients with chronicĀ noncancer pain but there are pharmacological, psychologicalĀ and societal concerns about their current widespread use for thisĀ indication.
