Elderly patients with diabetes\u00a0benefit from a team approach to management.<br \/>\nThe approach to diabetes management should be\u00a0tailored to each individual patient. Institutions are not\u00a0all the same: in-house staffing, supports and services\u00a0vary and need to be well understood to manage chronic\u00a0diseases effectively. In elderly people with a short life\u00a0expectancy, excessively tight diabetes control is not\u00a0recommended.
